Songs Introduced by Fred Astaire
Flying Down To Rio (1933) - Vincent Youmans
Written for the film of the same name, Flying Down To Rio, was notable for being the first songs Astaire performed on-screen. The film is also notable for being the first time he and Ginger Rogers were paired together. Astaire (along with Rogers) was a stand-out in the film, quickly distinguishing himself as a supremely talented screen performer (he was already a veteran of the stage) with a charm and grace all his own.
